Wedding Party

Jasmine – Maid of Honor

This girl is my ride or die, my twin, my sister.

Jazzy, or Monique, as I like to call her. We first crossed paths in elementary school, she always had the cutest pigtails, though I’ll admit, for some reason, little me didn’t quite trust her yet. I was so, so wrong. We officially became inseparable when we both landed in the front row of 6th grade band, flutes in hand, and the rest is history.

What followed were years of concerts every weekend, endless laughter, parties we’ll never forget (and a few we probably shouldn’t), and every major life moment you can imagine. Lived side by side. Somewhere out there is an old hard drive with videos of us that I’m going to need her to keep locked away forever, and I trust her completely to do exactly that.

Jazzy is one of the most dependable people I have ever known. She’s a talented speech-language pathologist, a wonderful mom of two, and somehow still the first person to show up when I need her. I can trust her with anything and everything.

I don’t know what I would do without her, and I cannot imagine walking into this next chapter without her right beside me

Kristina – Bridesmaid

Some friendships come with an origin story, and ours starts with Jazzy.

Kristina was brought into our friend group sophomore year of high school when Jazzy invited her to catch some local bands at our favorite spot, The Alley. She was a little nervous when she first met us…so nervous, in fact, that she followed nearly everything she said with a quick “just kidding!” It was absolutely hilarious.

It didn’t take long to see that Kristina is one of the funniest, most big-hearted people you’ll ever meet. She’s always been the mom of the group. The protector, the one making sure everyone feels included, seen, and laughing. Growing up, you could almost always find me at her house on weekends, and some of my favorite memories are the adventures we’ve had together in New York City over the years.

After high school, Kristina moved to Connecticut and honestly, distance never stood a chance against this friendship. We’ve stayed just as close through every season of life. She is endlessly creative, deeply passionate, and has the kind of heart that makes everyone around her feel a little better just for being near her.

And in the most perfectly full-circle way, Kristina is also newly engaged and will be getting married this year. I am so honored to celebrate her, just as she is here celebrating me.

Casey – Best Man

I knew of Casey in high school, but I really met him through Corbin shortly afterward. Pretty sure it was at a pool party at his parents’ house where he “accidentally” invited my ex-girlfriend and her friends. It was a big ordeal, but that’s neither here nor there. We eventually bonded over music, which led to countless concerts, late nights, traveling, and dabbling in substances that were, let’s say, legally ambiguous but spiritually enlightening.

He’s been there through pretty much my entire relationship journey, the highs and the lows. He’s been a life advisor, comedian, fantasy football commissioner, brother, and a best friend. He even convinced Brittani to move to Sunrise Hospital so she could finally stop working nights, arguably his greatest contribution to this relationship.

Corbin – Groomsman

Corbin and I go all the way back to elementary school. Although we didn’t become real friends until high school, he’s known me long enough to have a deep archive of stories. He tells a Dane Cook joke better than anyone you’ll ever meet. He’s  always in a good mood and easily one of the funniest people I know, especially once the Captain and Cokes start flowing.

He’s always been the life of the party, the jokester, the one who makes your sides hurt from laughing. Even though he was the first in our friend group to grow up, get married, and start having kids, he’s always made time for his friends. I appreciate that more than he probably realizes.

Ariel – Officiant (Tamir's Brother)

I first met Ariel when he was about two and a half years old and I had just been born. To be honest, I don’t remember much. He seemed pretty chill – until he and my oldest brother bonded and started beating me up every day. I became the subject of their “physics experiments,” where I somehow always ended up hurt (luckily, no broken bones).

As we grew older, we started to bond over skateboarding and music, even starting a band together. He protected me from bullies, let me hang out with him and his friends, and took me to concerts. He’s one of the coolest, silliest, and best brothers anyone could ask for.

When I proposed to Brittani, the first person I thought of to marry us was Ariel. Having a stranger officiate just felt wrong.
